Class 3 Dangerous Chemicals and Guidelines for Safe Use of Solvent-Based Hazardous Chemicals

Class 3 dangerous chemicals refer to flammable liquids. According to the catalog of hazardous chemicals, these substances have a flash point below 60°C, are highly volatile and flammable, and their vapors can form explosive mixtures when mixed with air. Common solvents such as acetone, toluene, xylene, and n-propyl acetate fall into this category.

To ensure the safe use of solvent-based hazardous chemicals in production, the following principles should be followed:

Storage Management: Store in a cool, well-ventilated dedicated warehouse away from ignition sources and heat sources. Use explosion-proof electrical equipment, install spill containment barriers, and ensure containers are grounded to prevent static electricity.

Usage Guidelines: Operate under a fume hood or local exhaust ventilation system to prevent vapor accumulation. Strictly prohibit open flames and high-temperature operations, and use explosion-proof tools. Operators must wear protective gloves, respirators, and anti-static workwear.

Emergency Response: Maintain an adequate supply of fire extinguishers (dry powder, CO), absorbent pads, and other emergency materials. In the event of a spill, immediately evacuate personnel, eliminate ignition sources, and collect and dispose of the spilled material using absorbent materials.

Strict adherence to safety procedures is essential for ensuring personnel safety and maintaining continuous production operations.
